On a plot of about 2,000 m2, a twenty-four storey building with a total built-up area of about 30,000 m2 with 3 basements, 7 levels of podium, and 14 levels of the tower. The basements are housing parking, vault, storage, and utility spaces. The podium is catering for the bank branch office and service pool, cafés, restaurant, retail and mall space, cinema, gym, and other ancillary functions. The tower is going to be used for offices. Spans are on about 7 m grid and column dimensions are limited to 40 cm x 60 cm even for the most heavily loaded columns. Optimized ductile core walls provide lateral stability both for seismic safety and comfort of end-users for sustained wind loads. Disproportionate collapse is avoided through robustness design. Our team also provided support on the soil investigation with due emphasis on excavation shoring design.
